| Davinder
is an expert in the field of IT Systems Management particular
focus being Open Systems, Database Systems and Communications
Infrastructure Development. His experience of Information Technology
dates from 1979, in addition he holds a first class honours degree
in Computer Science specialising in Operating Systems.
He commenced
his career as a Software Engineer involved in the design development
of Processors and support aspects of porting UNIX onto various
manufacturers hardware. He has consulted across many industry
sectors and has held positions within AT&T in New Jersey USA,
Amdahl, Software Techniques Inc, BT Laboratories, Inland Revenue,
StatOil, BP, BBC and Various government organisations. He was
actively involved in Amdahl’s mainframe Unix product programmes
and its deployment into the US 800 Toll Networks as a first Commercial
use of Unix/UTS technology. Whilst at Inland Revenue he contributed
to the Architectural Framework 93 and moved onto the Technical
Review of “ENPS” Electronic News Production Systems
at the BBC.
Before moving
to the U.S for 5 years from the UK , Davinder was involved in
several start-up UK Companies implementing Unix and Related technologies
to Business Applications.These companies have subsequently become
parts of larger organisations.
